Safety and Facilities

Goal

The Gilford School District will maintain and upgrade buildings, grounds, operational systems and propose needed capital improvements.

Targets

Gilford Meadows   - Planning for building and facility use of the property will be recommended by the community based Gilford Meadows Committee. They recommend that current use of the facility continues with a Gilford High School alternative education program in the “Yarn Shop”, maintenance storage in the Triple Trouble Barn, and use of the playing fields by school district and community based teams.

Future development is considered in three phases:

1.      Athletic field improvements – small scale terrain improvements are the first priority and are expected to be completed during the duration of this strategic plan.

2.      Structures to complement fields – A concession stand, restrooms and locker rooms are recommended to support existing activities and meet NHIAA standards.

3.      Building use – Additional uses of barns and other storage areas will be future considerations of the committee.

Resource Management

Goal

The Gilford School District will develop an evaluation structure to assess the effectiveness and resource utilization of district systems and programs.

Target

·         In each of the next 5 years, a Gilford Evaluation Team (GET) will be established to develop and implement a system of program evaluation. This will be accomplished on an annual schedule with at least 12 program evaluations completed, recommendations presented, and changes implemented over the course of this strategic plan.
